Save, reopen and share a view

Links, saved views, workspaces and your account: what each keeps and where.

What you get: A view you can reopen yourself or send to someone, knowing exactly what travels with it.

Steps

To share: File → "Share…" and "Copy link", or File → "Copy share link". The note confirms the copy.
To save by name in this browser: File → "Saved views…", type a name, and choose "Save current". Choose a saved view in that list to restore it; ✕ deletes it.
To reopen later without doing anything: the map remembers your last camera, layers and time in this browser, and restores them when you come back to cartevoir.com.
To keep work on your account: sign in (top right, "Sign in"). See the table below for what then syncs.

A share link never carries your imported sites, your watchlist or any organisation data. The recipient sees the public layers you had on.

What success looks like

The copied link, opened in a new tab, shows the same camera, layers and time offset; a saved view appears in the "Saved views" list with its date and layer count.

Limits to know

Clearing this browser's site data deletes browser-only views and workspaces. Signing in before you do keeps the synced items.
When the browser and the account both changed a synced item, nothing is merged: the account menu says which one diverged, and you resolve it by changing one side.

If something is wrong

"Copy link" did nothing.: Some browsers block the clipboard; the product then shows the link in a box to copy by hand.
A saved view restored the layers but not the place I had selected.: Saved views keep the camera and layers, not the open panel. Select the place again.
